Preview dimensions and interpretation
These tendency scores are calculated from this survey’s responses. Each independent 0–100 index is not a disease probability, medical risk level or population ranking.
Every item contributes an equal weight of 1 to its assigned dimension. Sum valid 1–5 answers minus 1, divide by (valid item count × 4), then multiply by 100. Not applicable, declined answers and the experience gate are excluded from numerator and denominator. Each dimension requires at least two valid answers and at least half its items. Any withheld dimension suspends overall comparison; prominent items are shown only when all dimensions can be calculated and the maximum is at least 25. This display rule is editorial, not a clinical threshold.
- Difficulty controlling drinking: Answers about difficulty controlling amount or cutting back stood out relatively. Frequency or amount alone does not determine dependence.
- Drinking and daily-life conflict: Answers about drinking affecting responsibilities, relationships or the next day stood out relatively. Discuss concrete examples with a professional if this persists or concerns you.
- Recognized problems and others’ concern: Answers about concern over consequences or others’ worry stood out relatively. Feeling or hearing concern does not itself establish a diagnosis.
Before you start
This original self-check draws on research concepts; it is not a standardized test or diagnostic tool. Its questions, weights and minimum-answer rules are editorial choices without clinical validation. You may decline or choose not applicable, and interpretation depends on your circumstances and responses. This does not use AUDIT’s original items or scoring. Amount and frequency are descriptive and are not added to the custom score. Do not use this result to determine safe consumption or whether stopping is needed.
